Have you tried going directly from DXF to smooth POV in Crossroads?

In Crossroads, select the parts of the image you want to be smooth, and
choose "smooth" from the right-click menu.

My guess is that the RAW format output by Crossroads doesn't support
smoothness (the RAW file size is the same with and without "smooth") so
the image may be becoming unsmooth at that stage.


Alternatively, consider whether Truespace can output some other format
that can be converted more directly to POV format with fewer intervening
steps, such as "Wavefront OBJ" format.
