OK,

Steve's message is dated in its headers as

Date: 13 Jun 2001 21:01:54 -0400

note the -0400 which indicates Steve's time zone. Now since I'm
currently +0100 (British Summer Time) my news reader added five hours
and told me that he posted at 14 Jun 2001 2:01 local time for me. Your
timezone is +0200 so your news reader converted the post date to 14
Jun 2001 3:01.

This is great, because it means I can work on a Friday Abstract all
the way to about 11am Saturday local time before anyone really
complains that I'm posting late because it's still Friday somewhere :)
