When I choose the Help on the POV-Ray Scene Language menu item, I get the
following Windows Help error:
An error exists in this Help file. Contact your application vendor for an
updated Help file. (1024)
I am using version 3.1g on a Windows 98 P166 with 96Megs of Ram.
The error is in the povray31.hlp file.

This is a VFAQ. The odd thing is that I don't know the answer.

Hi, Odie. I cannot duplicate this on my POV-Ray for Windows v3.1g system.
Clicking on either the menu item or the toolbar item for the Scene Language
Help successfully opens the Windows Help file. Chris Cason also cannot
duplicate this problem on his machine.
What happens when you double-click directly on the help file povray31.hlp
in the \POV-Ray for Windows\help directory? On my system it opens the help
the same as from the menu item in the main program.

This usually means that the help topic that the program asked to view does
not exist.

Hi, Mark. Thanks, I've seen this in older releases of the Windows docs but
cannot recall which sections generate this error message. If someone who has
encountered this error would kindly point out the section numbers to me I
can compare them against the Adobe Acrobat docs.

One last followup. :)
I uninstalled PovRay and re-installed using the default directory and now
the help works just fine.
