Hi all!

I have followning problem. At home, i have an IBM Pentium 166 with
PovRay 3.02. On my notebook, IBM Pentium 166MMX i have installed PovRay
3.02 too. I have make the same configuration for both PovRay programs
(highest priority for render engine etc.).
When i run PovRay demo on my computer, this takes 36 sec. On my notebook
takes the demo 51 sec. Know somebody what may cause this time
difference?

Thank in adwance

I have noticed (in other words IMHO), that laptops that are configured
exactly as a desktop will almost always run more slowly. I dont know why.
Do you have the exact same amount of memory in your laptop? And there might
be a program, a power manager or somesuch, running in the background on your
laptop.

Well, maybe there is less cache on the laptop. They probably chop it a
bit to save money or something.
Also, I think the cpu's for laptops are cut down a bit for various reasons -
power management, heat dissipation, space? and so on.
Intel often talk about cutdown cpus for laptops, and so I guess they must be
chopping something out for some reason.

Ciao

ps.

Anyone know anything about the next POV release?
