Hello,

i've rendered an old scene with UVPOV 6.2, and it takes much longer as
with 6.0.
The second thing was, .that the scene looked strange (see:
http://www.povstudio.de/radiosity_uvpov.jpg ).

Rendering times for the scene: 0:47 min. UVPOV 6.0
                                                 4:14 min. UVPOV 6.2
Settings used:
      ini_option "+QR"
      ini_option "Preview_Start_Size=16"
      ini_option "Preview_End_Size=8"
         radiosity {
           brightness 2.5
            count 150
            max_sample 1
            distance_maximum 0.0
            error_bound 0.4
            gray_threshold 0.1
            low_error_factor 0.4
            minimum_reuse 0.01
            nearest_count 10
            recursion_limit 1
        }
I've also rendered the scene with various values for count (100 up 650),
error_bound (0.1 to 1.0) and low_error_factor (0.1 to 1.0).
As light i've used the standard light_source and also the spectrum-light
(only one light in scene).

The second bug:
After restart of the rendering, the right wall becomes holes. I have
tried a heigher value for max_intersections (like 128), but with no
effect (see: http://www.povstudio.de/radiosity_uvpov2.jpg). After
restarting povray the scene renders normally (but only the first
time...).

  Bye
    Paul Blaszczyk

Hi, Paul. I see that Chris Huff has already suggested posting articles
in plain text, only. Thanks for doing so. This is the correct group for
unofficial patch support but not for binary attachments. Your article
contains links to both rendered images at your web pages (this is a good
method) but you also attached the images to your post, once again.

The preferred method is to post the text for a question about UVPov in
this group (p.unofficial.patches) and make mention in the text body to
direct people to view the corresponding images to be posted at
p.binaries.images. It's okay to post images rendered with unofficial
versions of POV-Ray in p.binaries.images. This is for your future
reference, as your question has already received an answer from Nathan.

If you have any questions about this news server policy please don't
hesitate to ask. Also, it's recommended that you read the article,
"Where can I post my binary or text file?", in
p.announce.frequently-asked-questions.

Thanks for your help in keeping our newsgroups organized.
