I've been trying to post this with Pan but it never worked... so I finally got gnus on
xemacs but I don't like the interface. Anyways...
Has anyone tried compiling MegaPov on FreeBSD? I've been drooling over the new
features and improvements for a long time ;-p

I got my copy of MegaPov 0.7 from here:
http://perso.enst.fr/~jberger/mpov/mpov.html
I just did make, make install and all was well. On RH6.2 but it looked fairly
standard, so should work on anything.

Thanks, I downloaded it last night and the compile went fine. However, it doesn't
seem to want to process any of the new commands. Every time I try to render a file it
says that it's "(compatible to 3.1)". I added the "#version unofficial megapov 0.7;"
to the pov and include file but it still didn't work. I even downloaded one of the
demo files and tried to render that, but it said it couldn't open the .INI/.DEF file
'sys'. Any ideas?

2 possibles, did you go into the "unix" directory to compile?
and is your executable in the same directory as your x-povray executable?
These are just guesses, so may not lead you to the answer to your
problem.

Oops, nevermind, it actually does work. I just forgot the syntax for the command line
arguments in my excitement to try it out ;-)
