Hi there,
I was wondering if there is interest in a 'configure'-d version of the
povray-sources for unix?
If there is, I would start working on it. As this means digging into
autoconf and possibly m4, I won't do this just like that.
Warning, I'd possibly move the include-directory to $prefix/share, just
because I like that better. It's overridable, and $prefix/include is for
header files, in my mind.
I started a bit, but it's not just plain going. Success is possible, but
not promised.

A configure for povray would be more than nice. I installed povray
several times on different unix boxes and would have liked that. If you
are willing to do this work, I would appreciate it!

Personally I didn't have any problems with the source, but I've seen
enough questions here about compiling that I'm sure an autoconf version
would be much appreciated.
Cheers, PoD.

You'll note that there is now a make install option. I've been thinking
of adding a configure script, but I haven't gotten around to putting
much effort into it yet. If you want to pursue this, be my guest. I
don't really have the means to test this on a wide range of Unices, so
having something unofficial that could get tested openly on a number of
systems before being incorporated into an official version would
probably be a good thing.
