I'm considering, partly motivated by an upcoming change in computers, dumping by
portfolio (finished works and WIPs) into Tumblr, with occasional ads, of course.
Spaced out to appear at most once per day.

Anyone ever try anything like this? I.e., any problems with giving tumblr the
keys to it all? Say perhaps especially for videos, uploading to Tumblr versus
YouTube? I do think this would be more satisfying than blogger, in terms of
visitors' satisfaction with a lone image / anim on Tumblr vs. Bring expected to
be entertained by a full "blog post".

Anyone already up there?

Okay, I went ahead and did it.

http://pterandon.tumblr.com/

I have some 1500 animations on a HDD, WIPs as I slowly improved projects for
things like the IRTC. I'm slowly (only like 8 per day) uploading them with
commentary. Probably a bit tedious to only see improvements, but it's a blog
about improving, and enjoying the craft per se. Like enjoying seeing sawdust
flying in a shop more than seeing finely crafted wood things. With 1500, some
of the changes between versions so small that I'm only probably going to but in
some 400.

I'm also trying a way to "monetize" the collection, with a short text link at
the bottom. So far I'm putting in < zazzle.com / gallery / my_referring_ID >
plain text links in, to either charities or things I think are cool, like
other's povray galleries. Thinking of other ways to use the space-- might
eventually put a plain text url to every charity I believe in (no monetization
here of course), or jpg links to my zazzle products (but I hate the default link
zazzle creates).
