I'm having a hard time getting from 7 to 8.

My next goal is to derive the equation for intersecting circle and ellipse

and then do some thinkin' and see if I can figure out the equation for an
ellipse intersecting another ellipse.



THEN, if I haven't blown a mental gasket,  figure out how to expand that into
3D, and intersect spheres, oblate and prolate spheroids.

Sqrt(k / 4 d^2) = Sqrt(k) / Sqrt(4 d^2).

Sqrt(4 d^2) = Sqrt(4) Sqrt(d^2) = 2 d.

2 * Sqrt(k) / 2 d = Sqrt(k) / d = (1/d) Sqrt(k).

Simples.

That reminds me of a maths teacher I once had at school who said. "It is 
obvious that... Wait a minute". Then left the classroom, returned twenty 
minutes later and said. "Yes, it is obvious."

Super.  That got me that far.
I couldn't get from 8 to 9, so I just worked backwards to verify that 9 does
indeed come from 8.

Upwards and onwards.  Until I get stuck again.  :D
