I am sorry to say that John passed away in his sleep last Thursday
morning. The Kat and the Feegle were at his bedside.
He will be missed by those who knew him.
He asked me to thank everyone who sent their best wishes.
So raise a glass or two in his memory.
Slàinte mhath Dr John

I'm sorry to hear it.
That's a sad thing to find out, indeed.
You have my condolences for losing a friend.
To Dr. John. <raises glass>

A heeltap! a heeltap! I never could bear it!
So fill me a bumper, a bumper of claret!
Let the bottle pass freely, don't shirk it nor spare it,
For a heeltap! a heeltap! I never could bear it!
No skylight! no twilight! while Bacchus rules o'er us:
No thinking! no shrinking! all drinking in chorus:
Let us moisten our clay, since 'tis thirsty and porous:
No thinking! no shrinking! all drinking in chorus!
