A couple of weeks ago, Stephen mentioned that he was fairly certain that
I held the record for being the OP of the longest thread on this
newsgroup. I begged to differ but the thought stuck in my mind and I was
finally forced to check the stats.
According to my research, using the Mk 1 Eyeball and Intercranial
Wetware for Humans v0.95, the results are as follows:
1st Tom Austin for 'Be very very quiet' on 25/11/2009 with a
length of 618 - 4 and a bit months
2nd Patrick Elliot for 'Getting Kenned Ham, without paying' on
14/11/2007 with a length of 588 - 37 days
3rd Warp for 'Is this the end of the world as we know it?' on
24/09/2011 with a length of 545 - 34 days
4th David H Burns for 'Tell me it isn't so' on 21/07/2009 with
a length of 473 - 23 days
5th Warp for 'A kind of revolution is happening in the United
States' on 12/04/2011 with a length of 452 - 17 days
and finally,
6th Doctor John for 'Bl**dy Election (part 2)' on 30/04/2010 with
a length of 365 - 15 days

I would've sworn that some of our MC threads went much longer (timewise
and message-wise).
Speaking of which, Stephen seems to have let the side down - I didn't
know we were up to episode 5 of the current series of Clue. Fortunately,
all episodes still on iPlayer. :)

So you didn't get the "Telstar" reference, then?
I think it was Telstar played on the new electric Kazoo. I liked the
Glasgow set. Jack Dee was on form and Morningside Crescent was wild.

That's OK - I do now. :) We listened to the first 4 episodes last night
- really surprised that some of it got past the censors. ;) Haven't
laughed that hard in quite a while.
