Yes. But beware if using skype and making a public tor-node, you might
end being refused by skype-login (courtesy of MS scanning the list of
tor nodes and rejecting connection from such address).
(Do not even consider skype inside tor, as the flow would be so slow
(and it is useless, the eardroppers are at the skype-server))
I wonder about freenet and gnunet.

not a skype user so no issue for me ... i'm still playing with it (tor)

Have to rebuild that soon anyway, then I try again.
One way to use it is to prevent google from using your history to give
you info based on what you agree with already anyway. Sometimes an
unbiased view is preferable.

I just grab the tor browser bundle and use that on Linux.

First time it did and when I upgraded to a next version it didn't
But I have trouble installing anyway, that is why I have to rebuild.
(and don't tell me that should not happen, I know, but it did)
