It is exiting SC that puts you in the instance. A couple of times I
missed the exit point and once was only a00 km from the station. When I
went the slow way. The marker was there but not the station. I had to go
into SC then straight back out. Before it appeared.

No, you can't travel between systems in SuperCruise; so if you want to
see Earth in all its glory, you'll have to do plenty of missions for
Federation factions.

I have cleared the saved game, a couple of times. When you sell your
Eagle. Strip it down by selling all the internals that you can, before
selling the ship. You make a little. ;-)
