Take a look at this jigsaw, painted by Dominic Davidson.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Falcon-11006-Riverside-Jigsaw-Puzzle/dp/B0076KMQ1I

...wait, painted?

I don't know, man... Those trees don't quite look right. And the thatch?
Are you SURE this is a painting??

You are right. The artist, Dominic Davison, is a freelance digital artist.

I don't get it. If he could put so many leaves and detail into all the
other trees, why couldn't he do the same with the willow tree?

Unless he just gets free 3d models off the net and throws them together in
a scene?
But why not rather replace it with some other type of tree that actually
has leaves?

I've been looking for a good free 3d willow tree on the internet for a
long time and still haven't found one.

Agreed. It really looks like trees with different levels of resolution
all thrown together. A low level/poly one is the one with the large
leaves, behind the willow. The thatch is imo the worst thing however.
That really hurts the eyes.

Of course, it's a painting. Do you know how long it takes to draw,
those cylinders, one by one, for the Willow tree?

How dare you criticize him!

Nah! Everybody can see that he used lollipop sticks glued end to end and
then used a spray can, so yes, in that sense it /is/ a /painting/ :-)

Reminds me of Le Dîner de Cons.

"Painted" ... That's cute!, Look at the cat. Suspiciously CG to me...
Just sayin'

Interesting. I came across several jigsaws of typical village landscapes
that appeared suspiciously computer-generated. (I.e., done poorly.)

I guess in the modern age, so few jigsaws get sold that people have to
cheap out on the image production methods...

Yup. Standard Poser cat pose if I'm not mistaken.

But the lower edge of the thatched roof is indeed the worst element in
the image.
