Yes, it is once again that time of year. At about 6PM GMT today, I get 
to go do my loose uncoordinated thing on the dance floor at Blackpool.

[No, *not* the prestigious Tower Ballroom; the much less well-known 
Empress Ballroom in the Winter Gardens.]

Last year we managed 6th place; I wonder if we can equal that this year? 
(Considering I've just spent an entire week with a cold, and I'm still 
not over it now...)

PS. Right now my partner is already in Blackpool, and freaking out like 
a giant spaz. She always panics on comp day...

Well, we made the final round. But then we came last in that round. Just 
like last year. Fewer contestants this year though, so we got 4th place.

Nicole seems a little bit upset. The announcer made a point of 
reiterating the rules about what moves you are and aren't allowed to 
have. We followed those rules, and nobody else did. Yet we came bottom. 
So all the people who broke the rules got a higher score for it.

At least, that's the way it plays out in Nicole's mind. It could just be 
that, I don't know, everybody else danced better? (All 3 of them...)

I just like having a new trophy to show. And besides, at least we didn't 
come *last*...

The same time next year? I might take my camera and come to witness the
happening. I'd have two reasons to visit Blackpool then, that could be
enough to order plane tickets.
