superimpose one page on top of another, or shrink one page and stick it
inside another, or basically edit the pages in any way, shape or form.
You can turn documents into PDF. You can reorder the pages, or move them
from one file to another. And that's basically *it*. That's *all* this
massively expensive product actually does. It's almost unbelievable.
document into PDF. So clearly it's not that ****ing hard...

I hear you, and I've always used GIMP for price reasons. Hopefully
Adobe's starting to look more at this market, but I'm not privy to their
plans at the moment.

Fortunately it is an junior-level position, so hopefully I'll be able to
postpone the downward spiral of my mental health for a little bit yet.

Honestly, I've been in school so long that I think any real job would
seem pretty unreal to me. I'll have to, like, maintain a regular
schedule and everything.

I thought Adobe had their "elements" version of software to cater for
the cheap consumer part of the market?

Well, Corel has both Painter and Paintshop Pro. Sadly, the latter they
screwed, in some respects, with some features in older version becoming
more problematic, and it not supporting the maximum color depth, and a
few other things that kind of bug me. The reason? Because it competes
with the product they already had. Sigh... Problem with the "cheaper"
market is sometimes what you end up with is the software equivalent of
the cheap $9 camera, which erases itself, if you forget to install the
driver first, because it would cost $15, if they actually had it work
right. I am not at all sure I trust those "cheaper" options to not be
missing the things I do need, while having a load of them I never
needed. lol
