Funny thing is that I'm all into Sherlock Holmes ebooks these days and I caught
Watson describing a breakfast: eggs and... milk? No! Whisky and soda FTW! lol

We did some fancy restaurants. (I can *highly* recommend Castle Hotel in
Conwy.) I still didn't see more than token vegetables. :-)

Let's face it: milk in town is unhealthy (by the time it reaches the
table, the bacteria are all over).
On the other side, whisky is sterile (water+high alcohol), and to have
it safe for the breakfast, you cut it with water (carbonated water: soda).

Flat water could be unhealthy too, but soda with high % of carbon
dioxide just get away with most germs. (at least the ones which like oxygen)

So where the victorian's age.

Try to go to Egypt nowadays, and you better avoid tap water and ice
cubes. Bottled-Sealed water and Cocacola (also sealed!) are your best
friends. (unless you like to be ill, very ill)

Just because you can't see it, it doesn't weigh anything,
and you can't drill a hole in it and stick a rivet into it doesn't mean
it's free.

Oh well. At least they weren't skimping on the expensive bits. :)

That's the bard, yes.

I've had Shakespeare's grave fixed in mind after having read this most amazing
transcription of a talk gave at GDC:

http://www.ludix.com/moriarty/psalm46.html

the author is Brian Moriarty, designer of Infocom's seminal work of interactive
fiction, Trinity. Somehow, he's still into the game industry, even though
perhaps as just consultant or invited talker. Thing is, his talks are as
mindblowing and puzzling as his old stuff. A recommended read, as well as his
other talks.

Pity.

BTW, this is apparently one of my wife's new goals. We have to take the
picture that's in the guide book.

She was so mad when we spent a couple hours hiking around, climbing over
city walls, slogging thru scruff, finally getting a really good photo of the
castle on the cliff. Then we came home and the new version of the guide book
for all of Europe had it on the cover. She was soooo mad. :-)
