That's what happens when you take a week off from here. Scary. :-)

I took 4 days off and had 200+ unread messages on this group alone.
Around 40 emails (mostly from a mailing list), got thru them already.
Still have 37 unread in p.b.i (was 0 before I went).

There's a group on another server that used to get over 1,000 messages
per day. A week off resulted in a "mark all as read" upon return by most
people. :-)

Yes, I thought so. It's slowed down since a couple of the high posters
have gotten real jobs. ;-)

Pffft. Try not checking your email while subscribed to the Haskell cafe
group. That thing regularly generates 200 messages PER DAY. :-P
About a week ago, I deleted 27,000 unread emails, because I haven't had
much time to look at it this month...

Well, yeah, like I said, another group I subscribe to used to do about
1300 per day.

I went into work yesterday after a 4 day weekend to find 575 mails in my
inbox, about 1780 status emails from various servers and about 300 emails
reporting severe errors.
It's about average these days

I used to get status emails from the RAID controller on our DB server
(??!) when the server rebooted.
These days, it's our document management system. If you're supposed to
be reviewing a document, it likes to spam you daily.
Even better, if you exceed your mailbox limit, the Exchange server spams
you hourly. (??!?!)
Seriously, hourly. I told the admin I thought that's a little OTT, so he
made it spam you ever 4 hours instead. WTF?
