I have a strange problem where I can render pre-made POV-RAY files, but
Moray scene files don't work. So.. here's the message I get in the POV-RAY
status window:

---
Messages cleared.
Rendering started by GUI extension
Preset INI file is 'C:\PROGRAM FILES\POV-RAY FOR WINDOWS
V3.5\RENDERER\QUICKRES.INI', section is '[512x384, No AA]'.
Preset source file is 'C:\PROGRAM FILES\MORAY FOR
WINDOWS\POVSCN\Jungle_Tek.INI'.

Command Line Error: Unrecognized output file format X.

Returned from renderer with error status

I'm using the latest version of Moray too... is there some config switch
that I missed? I've checked FAQ's and help files to no avail. Any help
would be appreciated... I've come back to ray-tracing after a long
abscence, and would love to be creating things, but can't seem to get them
to render yet. TIA.

Matt

Probably the thing to do is check for a line in the file stating
Output_File_Type= and put a S (for system default, such as bmp in Windows)
or T (for Targa) or N (for png) at the end. I suppose it could be in your
jungle_tek.ini but I don't use Moray so I have no idea what or how it adds
stuff.

The quickres.ini doesn't start off with any file types until you edit that,
and unlikely the povray.ini (both are in pov-ray\renderer\) could have it
misset either. No harm in checking them though. In the meantime you can put
+fs (+f being the output file switch followed by type abrev. same as for ini
files) into the command-line box of POV-Ray itself to try and be sure it is
used since it *should* override a Moray setting, if any.

There's a line in some .ini file somewhere which has 'X' as the output
format for something (I think it was cpu histogram or something like that).
Just remove the X and it will work.
