I have built a scene (my first real one) and it is a landscape. I can't
seem to get the whole thing lit! I  can't get the parts way back it the
back lit up. I am using a sky sphere and a height field for the ground.
Any suggestions or examples that I can look at would be appreciated.

I  find that if you put the light source up high (say about 200-400,
depending on the height_field) and use an rgb value higher that 1 (1.5-2.0)
that you can get the whole thing lit.  Change these variables as needed.
Post your image to povray.binaries.images when you finish it!

Depending on the over-all image, it might not hurt to bump up the
ambient 
a bit, but not so much that it looks radioactive.

Of course, if you're using a sphere for a sky (as opposed to a
sky_sphere)
don't forget to make it big enough to be well outside the light source.
