Hallo alle zusammen,

hab gerade die neuen Gruppen entdeckt, und auch wenn's ungewohnt ist auf

To everyone: Maybe we should set up a multilingual welcome message for
this group.

Seems like a great idea. My first message in Portuguese [pt] is supposed to
be a welcome message, but it will expire and late comers will not have a
chance to see it. I tried to follow the lines of Gilles' message, and also
got some of our Spanish speaking friends' "Hola!" message in the mix.

How long and detailed do you feel it should be? What should be the general
contents, if the message was to be "unified" in its meaning?

Ruy

I don't think it has to be precisely the same for each language, maybe
some elements from the 'Welcome to the povray newsgroups' message should
be mentioned, but also some language specific links could be good.

Hi Christoph, Hallo zu jedermann!

das eine oder andere mal habe ich hier auch schon deutsche Namen
gesehen.
Brrr - ist das ungewohnt. Man kann gar nicht sagen, "It's not my first
language sorry if I'm nat able to explain ..." - aber manchmal ist das
in der ersten auch nicht so einfach...
Tja - wer ist noch da?

If you want, I can write up a short introduction in English, the foreign
language experts can translated it into their language, and I will then
post an announcement in p.a.f-a-q with the translations inline.
