Hi David,
the hint with the control button was the break through!!!
Many thanks! That's what i wanted.
Nevertheless, how does the rectanguler box and the lasso work? (don't know PSP). When
i do a
selection with them, nothing happens...

Many thanks again,

Robert

Robert,

The rectangular box and the lasso are used to select multiple points.

The rectangle button works by placing the cursor somewhere near where you want to
start the
selection, then press and HOLD the left mouse button whilst you drag the cursor over
the
rectangular area you are interested in. Releasing the mouse button selects all the
points
contained within the rectangle.

The lasso button is used to draw an irregular area around points you wish to select.
This
works by again pressing and holding the left mouse button whilst dragging the cursor
around
the points you want to select. This results in a white trace of the cursor. When you
release
the mouse button all the points enclosed within the area of the white trace will be
selected.

The clue to both is to drag the cursor whilst holding down the left mouse button.

The use of inverse is also very useful here as you can select the points you DON'T
want and
then use inverse to get all those you want.

Hi David,
so far it was clear to me that i have to hold down the left mouse button whilst
dragging the
mouse. But, what should i say? Am I too stupid? When i do the mentioned things,
nothing happens.
The encircled points remain red (no selection occured). The other way round
(everything is
selected) to deselect points work...

Hi Robert,

I have tried to reproduce what is happening to you, but cannot. My system selects the
points
just as I have described. It also works the other way round (as yours does) and
deselects
points already selected. It may be something you are doing wrong, but I can't see
what it is.
It may just be that there has been a glitch with your system and it will be OK after
you have
rebooted. If this fails to sort things out, you could try re-loading Hamapatch

BTW, in my configuration Hamapatch is not entirely stable. Sometimes it just exits
when I am
selecting a point, so I make sure I save everything frequently.

I will be interested to hear if you manage to sort out your selection problems.

David

I've just remembered something. You are pressing [enter] to clear your
previous selection before trying to make another selection, aren't you?

Bye for now,
     Jamie.

Yes, i did. But you dont have to, if you want to select some more points to
the already selected.
BTW, now it works! I downloaded hamapatch again (not so simple, due to
crosswind.net) and now everything is allright ;-) Strange...

best wishes,

Robert
