There has been a bit of activity surrounding this type of lighitng lately,
so I thought it's time to release my work for public scrutiny.

This is an HDRI based lighting system that I have been working on for about
a year and a half an I feel I have finally got it developed to the point
that I can submit it. It requires HDRI support capability and works in
megaPOV (I have not tested how it performs in the 3.7 betas yet). It can
be fairly simple to use and implement in a scene, but also has some very
complex features. At the moment I don't have a comprehensive help written
up, as I haven't found the time (perhaps if there's enough interest, I'll
work on that as soon as possible). The intro to the macro briefly explains
each variable and what it does.

The zip file contains 3 files:
LightDome.inc: lightdome creation macro file
LightDomeExample.pov: a sample scene
MyOfficeSmall.hdr: a sample HDRI image made from one of my personally
created probes (used in LightDomeExample.pov)

Refer to the macro file and the example for how to use the system.

Features:
- .hdr HDRI light probe support (lat/long format only)
- light map evaluation mode
- area light support
- photon support
- auto/manual intensity adjustment for both lights and map
- central voronoi tesselation (gives accuracy improvements, but not
necessary)
- clipped are rebuilding: rebuild areas of the HDRI that are clipped (very
experimental, can also be used to try to simulate HDR with standard LDR
maps)

I have also tried a couple other experimental features that haven't been
implemented fully: manual gamma correction adjustment and light intensity
weighting.

If you are interested, please give the system a try. Feel free to post if
you have any comments/questions/suggestions.

Most of all: have fun and post anything you create with it!

I'd like to try it, except WinZip say: It does not appear to be a valid
archive. Any ideas?

Thanks, I have it now. If I use the web view, it doesn't work. I think I've
had that problem before with other files.

If a file is larger than zero bytes, but still seems invalid, the most
likely thing is that there was some error message, and instead of showing
the error page, your browser saved the error message as the file.

What I often do: try renaming the extension of the "broken" file to .html
and open it to see what the error was.

this can also happen if the link is to a webpage that should automatically
redirect to the file, but something doesn't work right, and you end up with
the redirect page, instead of the file.
