Despite the fact that no one requested this image I will share it here. I really
like it. With the bigger resolution you will find all the flaws better but I
think it's still fine. Not an owl but I like all kind of birds, especially the
pair of magpies who beated me in building a nest, some 20 meters away from my
window.

Best regards,
Michael

Who cares if the image is so nice?

I hope you mean they built their real nest before you managed to build
your virtual one (I've problems differentiating the multiple meanings of
"beating"... ;).

Yes, the original magpies in the front of my window were faster. They had their
hatchlings flying before I finished my model. But I like them, like all birds.

Best regards,
Michel

Thank you for posting it; it's lovely.

Personally, I found it more visually engaging as it opened originally in my
browser: cropped somewhat to the lower-left part of the image, with the Stone
near the bottom-right corner.

Please keep up the great work!

...meaning that magpies are smarter than you (in building nests)? ;-)

I love this scene!

Thank you and waggy and Jaime and all the others. Yes, magpies are smart birds
and with building nests they are professionals and not hobbyists like me. To
waggy: I preferred a centered scene in this case, but the browser yielded an
clipping to a more golden mean position of the main objects. This really could
improve the scene, but since the rendering time was over 24 days for this
picture at a core i7 - due to the focal blur, the media and other time consuming
issues - I will not take an other approach. Thank you again for your comments.

Best regards,
Michael
