I feel like I'm standing there, in this beautiful and pensive place.

Definitely worth the effort you put into it. An inspiring image--philosophically
*and* technically.

:o

All the details, specially on the ground, make it very convincing. The
atmosphere helps a lot too... Great Work!

Great image indeed. I definitely want to go to that place, sit down quietly
in a shaded corner and let the atmosphere come over me for the rest of the
day. There probably is a little fountain, deeper in the building, where I
can quench my thirst. Food I have with me...

The details definitely provide for more realism. I think the lighting
and atmosphere are right on, something I have a hard time doing right.

Very well done.

Yeah. If I had more time and leisure to think about it, I'm sure I would want to
spend some time there. A week or two. Or a month. Or maybe a year. Just taking a
deep breath (right - half a year to inhale, and another half to exhale), and
enjoying the peace of silence.

Serenity.

I definitely could need an overdose of that right now.

Great picture, calm atmosphere. But, to me, Lucy seems out of place.
Maybe she is just too well known, or her perfect structure does not fit
well with the weathered surrounding.

Maybe. I was originally going to try weathering her too (and I will, sometime
soon), but then I looked at the test renders and thought she looked fine as she
was. It's true to say, however, the she is the only pristine mesh in a scene
full of deformity... (maybe that's also symbolic of something or other?)

Actually, there's another reason to think of her as being out of place. In my
(limited) google-images research on stone columns, it seems that my columns are
closest to ancient South American constructions, possibly Mayan (deliberately so
- I liked the simplicity). This is definitely at odds with a Christian statue...
:-)

In any case, thanks for the comments everybody.

Bill
