I saw this "real life" model:

And so I thought I'd do some modelling on my own. I think I shared the same joy
as real modellers do, at least to some tiny extent, while playing around with
POV-Ray.

Next step should be the texturing.

Great model!  I think I understand how you feel, modeling has always 
been my favorite part of using POV-Ray.  Perhaps what is lost in the 
tactile, is made up for in the cerebral?

Hehehe, exactly!

And you actually like it the most when you see it slowly looking more and more
like it should. Then when it's finished, you almost never watch it again.
Except for a few occations when you rest your eyes on the model and shake your
head at the time you spent on creating it... ;)

I think it is because people can more easily
appreciate the geometric details in the model ;)

BTW, is it CSG or did you use a modeller?

What a flattering question. This scene is made up by 95% basic boxes, cones,
cylinders and spheres only.

The "advanced" shapes that make the rest are a few rounded_boxes and
rounded_cylinders used, and of course the cloned prism which makes the
wagon/lavette. =)

If there are any interest for it I could post the code, then maybe someone could
give it some texture?

It's been quite some time since I've last seen such detailed pure CSG 
povray model... really nice! :)
