At least that one is still a little better than this one:

LOL!! Great!! You see why I do my driving between 1-4am??? ;-D

Infact, this reminds me of a Dr Who episode last season, entire generations
of people were living their lives in this umpteen level highway and getting
eaten by giant crabs.. (yeah I know, I want some of what they're smoking
too!!) :-D

Really nice, I love the idea! You could try to make it look a bit more
like a city, once the first glance is over that impression is gone
pretty fast. Still, one of the best ideas I've seen around here lately!

Thanks! And very true. It's just that <rand, rand, rand> is a whole lot easier
than buildings, blocks, diagonal roads, parking lots, etc... Maybe worth a try
though.

Hmm, nice, is it all just lights assigned to spheres with looks_like, or are
there buildings and things in there too?

Brilliant idea.

I'd move the transition-point between the red taillights and white headlights to
the far end of the figure-eight. While it's a cool demonstration of the
one-sidedness of a mobius strip, it ruins the illusion of driving round and
round forever --- when you reach that spot, you have to turn around *and* drive
in reverse!

I see no strips.

Do you mean the two points on the figure of 8 where the observer ceases to
see the headlights from a stream of traffic heading towards the camera and
starts to see the taillights of that stream of cars as they head away from
the camera?

Actually, I went back to MegaPOV and dusted off the glows. ~60000 Glows, three
fogs, a sky sphere, and a plane.

To be fair, each glow has a position and velocity on the curve. The coloring is
based solely on whether it's approaching or leaving the camera. If you trace
your fingers around a figure eight, there's really no ambiguity despite what it
may look like.
