I found the artifact in the original cloud map... looks like I need to scout
for another cloud map.

Rumor has it that NASA has a bunch of cloud maps. However, I wasn't able to
verify this claim.

I do but only on the blow-up, I wonder how Steve could see it at 1st
What are your eyes made of Steve?

Not a problem. The figment of Richard Hoagland's imagination that made him
rich was also a NASA image. $$$$$ Remember to report your windfall to the
tax man. $$$$$

Hey, no fair. I spotted it, I should get a cut of the millions! Ok, ok,
I'll forego my cut if I can have it named after me; 'Steve's Pareidolia'.

I would like to render a larger one... edge of shadow is extremely
difficult.... there's a thin line of redness that's hard to bring out.

I need a larger resolution cloud map. I have a super-size one that's too
big to fit on my home computer, so I have it on my office computer. It's a
few GB in size. I think when I get the colors right, I'll try the
super-size map.

As you render only a restricted zone of Earth, if you have a image editor
which can handle such a big map, you could crop just the bit you need and
make a spherical warp mapping with it

I thought of this....
1: I don't know how to do spherical warping, except if I wrap a section
around the entire sphere.
2: I'm not going to wrap Vietnam around a sphere. Results might look too
bad.

Excuse me I missed this post
You can scale your section down before warping it
