Excellent rendering; I was going to guess an F-4, but the layout's too
narrow for that. Still, it looks familiar...

SR-71 Blackbird. Not many planes carry RSOs. RIOs and WSOs are common, but
not "Reconnaissance Systems Officers".

I've seen the insides of an F-4 Sim. Your are right, not an F-4.

I don't know much about planes, but according to google it's definitely a
blackbird:

Nice render :-)

How got it first- it's a SR-71. If I can get the textures to look half as
good as that photo, I'll be delighted.

I think you've got an excellent handle on this so far. I appreciate the
accuracy!

I had fun with your image, by the way. I sent it to my old flight
instructor who guessed it to be an F-14 cockpit. Granted, he's ex-Army, so
what can you expect? One of the Air Force F-16 jocks in the building,
though, also guessed it as an F-14. :P

I really like your texture used on the drag chute handle. Is this
proceedural?

Also, I don't suppose any of the warning lights actually work? It would be
neat to see this lit up.

It just goes to show that fighter jocks don't have to be aviation buffs.
However, the lack of electronic displays (that screen at the bottom is a
map projector) does suggest that it's a pre-'70s design.

unless it is absolutely necessary).

Funny you should mention this... I have been working on a lighted version.
It still needs a lot of work. The relative intensities of the lights need
to be adjusted, and I had to guess which gauges are backlit and which have
illuminated bezels.
