I like the shed. Is that Christoph Hormann's iso-wood? Or is it done
with texture? And the corrugated steel roof is excellent, also. Is the
airborne panel actually slightly warped, or is that just the angle?
Anyway, great start.

No the wood panels are just CSG, in fact it's all CSG apart from the
corrugated roof which is a mesh because I wanted to warp it, as you
noticed. I'm planning to really concentrate on my modeling for this image
- something I normally don't have much patience for. Wait until you see
the flying garden furniture. ;)

Reminds me of Florida this past hurricane season. I saw a few sheds
that flew apart! :-o Looks like a good start.

Right-on. Sheds fly apart. Doors fly open.
I just can't figure why that door is *half*-open. If there were enough
over-pressure to pop the roofing, perhaps the door would either be wide-open
or still closed. And the window?
It would also be nice to see some warping on the remaining roof panel where
the other one parted from it.
Looking forward to more.

Tsk, I knew someone would say that! The door angle is controlled by a
single parameter so I can set it correctly depending on how I want it in
the final scene. In this test render I just left it at whatever setting I
used when I was modeling it.

Here's another WIP of this, slightly further along. The rainy environment
is still awful, the patio is too regular, the grass needs some work, the
background image is less stormy than it should be...

OK, so there's nothing perfect yet, but I'm getting there.

Comming good! Your getting the mood on a nice way. The grass, been abscured by the
blown dust, is
almost perfect. Don't loose to much time on it. For the patio, place each slab with a
bit of jitter:
some small, compared to the spacing, random translation and rotation. Maybe make the
clouds darker,
they look like fair weather clouds.

The patio will eventually get replaced by a 'crazy-paving' macro, but I
haven't written it yet. I'm going to work on the fence next, though I also
want to add another layer of grass in longer tufts around the shed and
fence posts to make it seem less well kept.

I like those ideas :)
I agree, longer grass around the shed and along the fences will probably improve the
overall feel.

Chris Colefax (http://www.geocities.com/ccolefax/) has written an include
that will "explode" any CSG object. What's really cool is it isn't limited
to the pieces flying outward from a single point - they can be blown with
the wind and then fall to earth. Might be helpful. :o)
