Truly awesome. You're not related to Gilles Tran are you?

Looks great!

But you are going to resolve that chord, aren't you? Not nice to finish on
an open suspension.

RG - don't shoot, I'm just the guitar player

Beautiful... all of them. Congratulations.

Now... let's find something to clean this drool off my keyboard. :)

Fernando.

LOL, my thought exactly :) I remember seeing a progression that ended
like with a Am6+/C,Am,C but though strange it fit perfectly in tune.
Now if only I can remember the song, we can have an animation going
with this one, hehehe

Me too. That's a x1203x if I'm not mistaken (sorry, my guitar is some
thousand kilometers from here :( )

Yes indeed :) but is it a standard notation?
I'd reverse it to make it ascending: low strings 1st

I noticed this model immediately, back from the atrium competition. This
model is a mesh and not coded by you, but the competition was about setting
up lights and radiosity (and to some degree: textures) in all kinds of
raytracers and compare the result (especially the render time)... Your
results are *great* and I'm sorry you didn't post them. There were almost no
posts from POV-Ray.. So, as usually people didn't recognise the power of
POV.

But I'm very impressed by all these pictures.. My favourite is
scene_radiosite.. Please post more in this group, when you have the time!
:o)

Best regards,
Hugo

They all look very nice although post processed focal blur is often
somewhat irritating.

I did not know Gimp is capable of generting focal blur. Or were all of
the images with focal blur made with Megapov?

Thanks to all !
I did not expect such an infatuation.

As requested, some comments :
Lightning : radiosity, image map as light sources.

POV Focal blur (besides, it gives an very efficient but time consuming
antialiasing effect. It is probably due to the sampling method, isn't it
?).

Frenel reflection/refraction for all reflecting textures.

The wood textures :
Usual Image map with the relevant bump map or the relevant heightfield.

Post-processing :
Sorry but the focal blur was made with povray and was not postprocessed (the
rendering time still hurts).
The gimp was used for tint and for gamma correction (+curve).
Sometimes, I add a glow effect (Gaussian blur on bright pixels) to give a
warm mood (refer to sponza pictures) or a glittering effect (scene
radiosite.jpg)

Rendering time :
Rendering time for atrium.jpg is about 1.5 hour for the radiosity
calculation with no antialiasing nor focal blur. 8 hours for the final
pass. (Athlon 1.4Ghz 256 Mo DDR)
Postprocess : tint, gamma-correction, glow, and the sky which was added
after a sky picture downloaded from the net.

I hope it is clear (sorry for my english)

The next weekend, I will post the source for one of these pictures.

Bye,

Jerome

If you say it... but i could swear

http://site.voila.fr/jcolin/galerie/boules_final.jpg
http://site.voila.fr/jcolin/galerie/caustic.jpg

have post processed focal blur because the reflections on the objects in
focus are very sharp too while in real life (and with internal focal blur)
the reflections would be blurred because they depict distant objects.

Anyway, could you post your focal blur settings for those pictures?

Christoph
