After a brief explanation from our resident spaceship expert, I went off to
POV and Photoshop for a while. Now, I know this is no where near the quality
of modelling we are accustomed to seeing from H.E., and the texturing is far
from perfect (like H.E.'s), but I hope you can stomach it and enjoy it
somewhat. It's basically just a quick test to see if it would work. (I had
to add an alpha channel, about 1 pixel further into the texture to hide the
seams at the edges.)

So just to see if I understand
You make a box the same size as the model look down at it. Does any of
the model show? Do you cut the model across the z plane? Then draw on
that? Or just on the white box. Could you or H.E. Day post a picture
with just the box and model?

Very Kewl TonyB

I was trying the same thing last night. I notice that
you aren't going for the Bump effect.

I wish there was a web page/tutorial about this.

No, this was just a quick test. Halfway through it, Mom came into the room
and asked why I wasn't asleep yet, so after a lot of discussion and
comprimising, I got a small extension to bedtime and finished the concept,
posted, and went to bed.

of this method.
