I've decided to go for a "futuristic crusader" look for the girl.
I love that shield. ;)

I'm gonna be leaving around 3:00PM PST for a long weekend. Any comments
I'll answer Sunday evening. :)
Enjoy!

Ooh! it's changed colour. Nice! Everything seems to fit together a bit
better now.

But, I have a few comments on the girl: I figure you introduced her because
you wanted some humanity in the foreground, which I completely understand
(I'm trying to do the same with my image at the moment!). But because the
camera's flying you need to come up with a reason for your character being
in the air. I think making a character who can fly is a bit of a cop-out,
IMHO. It's a little contrived, in order to make a nice image. Also, the
shield isn't very practical, shouldn't it be bigger and attached at 90
degrees so that she can fit most of her body behind it?

Despite my best efforts to find fault with this image, I confess it just
keeps getting better, and it was already amazing on the first Take!

The shield is on adifficult angle. You'd have your shoulder hunched up to be
able to protect your head, unless the shield was set to swivel when you set
your arm.
I don't mind the hovering, though

Hmm. The shield is odd, it seems disproportionate and angled wrong...

Not aure anymore if I like the colors better in water04 or water05. I'd
think maybe somewhere between, more towards 5 - slightly more contrast,
slightly less purple and slightly more saturation. It's a hard adjustment to
get, I know...

Well I definitely liked the contrast in water04 better than in water05.
However, it does lose some of its depth cueing so I have to agree, maybe it
should be set somewhere between the two.

This just keeps getting better.

Maybe have her prone on an extended boom, holding some kind of
binoculars to her eyes.

Some kind of lightweight airborne sled would be more practical...maybe
have her getting prepared to take off from a blimp, with just her, the
sled, and a launch boom/platform visible. (as if the camera is looking
out of the blimp she is leaving)
It doesn't look right to me with her flying, the shield/gun thing on her
arm looks like it would constantly be pulling her over, and the cape is
a bit much in my opinion. Standing watch outside a blimp while wrapped
in a blanket against the cold spray would make sense, but the cape looks
silly.
