I was thinking Borg. Then I thought of the classic Borg line "we are the borg,
you will be assimilated, resistance is futile". Then I remembered the security
in one of the Descent 3 levels that says, "Halt; your pass". And I can just
picture little spherical robots hovering around the halls at my school saying,
"Halt; your pass". And that would be hilarious if it weren't so close to the
truth.
hehe

Some kind of colony ship? Or part of one, either still being built or
which has arrived at the destination and broken into orbital stations
and landing vehicles? It doesn't look like a complete vessel, but it
doesn't look like it was damaged either, either just incomplete or
purposely separated.
That ridge along the, erm, "front" looks like some kind of shielding or
armor, but it leaves a lot unprotected. Maybe a seam for further
splitting apart...or areas for docking vehicles?
It seems to have definite "up" and "down" directions, judging from the
rows of windows, so maybe it is intended to eventually land on a
planet...or maybe during travel it uses acceleration/deceleration to
provide a sort of "gravity".

Am I over-analyzing again?
