Long ago, I posted an RSOCP...except that I don't think that the plane
was checkered...and I just posted it as a link to a website, which is
long gone now.

Anyway, in the spirit of penance, I present you with a Reflective Sphere
On a Checkered Landscape.

You know you've been raytracing too long when anyone has ever told you:
"WOW!!! You make 3D images on your computer?!" or something similar.

William,

Nice variation on the traditional theme! Some brave soul should create a
website showing every RSOCP variant ever produced with POV.

Hmm, I'm trying to remember whether or not I ever posted a RSOCP, but
I'm drawing a blank...

Sam

Cool!
That's really a nice one!
One's gaze is attracted to the landscape view inside the reflection.
Phew. :-)
And I was afraid to break with *the tradition* of first posting a RSOACP. :-)

That would be a very interesting site. Who volunteers for that?

Congratulations on creating a unique variation on a theme I thought had
been pretty much exhausted.

I mostly lurk on this NG, but now I think I need to post a RSOCL of my
own. I have something that I can put together that will look pretty neat.

I like this idea. How about suggesting it in p.general?

People could contribute new images there in a way similar to that one
site which collects images of spherical objects in a standard size.

Perhaps we could set up p.b.rsocp? ;-) I'm sure we'd get more posts that way.
It'd be like a POV-Ray-only CGSphere type thingy, but with more flexibility.
:-D

You realise that means everyone will have to re-submit their entry. Hmm!
Competition. :)

Maybe not necessarily a competition, but just a place to show off these
amazing creations?
