And why we should not be overly concerned about an alien invasion. They
are so naive and predictable!

They never learn, do they?
All those books where they never win.
Can they even read?

I wonder. You always see those primitive kinds of hieroglyphs. They are
way below the human race on the universal scale of civilisation.

I don't know if you have read any of Eric Frank Russell's work. But he
knew how to treat them.

Strangely enough, no. Somehow, his work didn't make it to NL, or I
completely overlooked him in the days I scavenged libraries, which I
still do btw but with less booty than in the past (that is another story).

In his universe. The Earthmen are on their own, often laconic and
sneaky. On the gripping hand. The Aliens are powerful but easily
bamboozled.
Libraries?
The main library where I live has turned itself into an internet cafe.
And they keep selling off their books.

Oop. I meant /bookshops/, I was the victim of a multi-linguistic
semantic mix-up ;-)
However, the future of /libraries/ is bleak indeed. I witness the same
as you, here. :-(

Internet café... trading quality literature for second- and third-class
content snippets, ignorant bulletin board rants, conspiracy loony
propaganda and Chick gospel tracts! Poor, poor world!
I think copyrights on books should expire 20 years after publication (at
least with maps, it's this way in Germany - they are counted for
whatever reason as databases, which may be copied freely 15 years after
initial publication!), not 50, 70 or 100 years after the author's death
- then we could drastically improve the Internet's content - let alone
full-text searching and all those features which come with digitalizing!
See you in Khyberspace!
