With the hull uv mapped as intended.

Well, I am rather satisfied with the first approximation of a dhow hull
built in DELFTship. Now I need to explore the more arcane possibilities
of the program...

Workflow (till now):
1) draw outlines of the ship (side view, top view);
2) draw timber profiles at regular locations along the hull;
3) measure xyz coordinate control points along each timber and put them
in a timber-plan spreadsheet;
4) in DELFTship, import the timber-plan spreadsheet and let the program
calculate the hull.

ToDo:
5) smooth the hull and correct outlines; add creases where necessary;
6) export the hull as OBJ object and import in modeller for further
shipbuilding.

I have been hammering away at the dhow hull, made it leak-free, and
launched it on the Yann. It floats, by Poseidon! :-)

All done so far within the DELFTship program (free version). Still some
more smoothing needs to be done. The free version does not have the
automatic options coming with the professional one, but using the
available shading modes it can be done manually as well.

In comparison with the "Kyrenia" ship which is about 14m long, the dhow
here is about 24m long.

I am very happy :-)

A screenshot from Silo2Pro to show the progress in building the dhow.
Essentially, the rigging and the sail(s) are missing. Most of the uv
mapping is done now too.

The Dhow is almost ready for sailing, and finally bring in some money
with trading up river ;-)

Rigging and sail still missing.

You got your own back by disposing James VII (James II of England) with
William of Orange. And look at the trouble that has caused, even unto
today. :-P
