I really like that megapov test scene...I just cant leave it alone...so
here is my annual modification of it. This actually took 1 month to render
on a core i5/6gb ddr3/win7 pro 64bit machine...and I am not happy with the
media atmosphere (I came up with a much better atmospheric media macro
about 3/4 way through this render which I posted in the tests thread) but
I am not likely to modify and re-render this until I get a *much* more
powerful pc. Those glows are brutal.

At least it makes a nice desktop background.

Just add +fn to the povray.ini file. You now default to PNG.
Or switch to 3.7 beta that now uses PNG by default.

And to prevent others from having to deal with the bmp, post the png
version and delete the post with the bmp.

John

On public news servers, it's almost always turned off because there's no
authentication going on. Anyone can delete anyone else's posts.

Let me guess: You have file extensions hidden. (Another one of those
"brilliant" (read: braindead) ideas by Microsoft.)

Actually, I think MS was just copying Apple on that one. It would have
worked out better if they (A) didn't allow "." in the other part of the file
name and (B) didn't allow two files with the same root but different
extensions. Of course, coming from CP/M, neither of these were really an
option.

I cant really blame MS on this one..hidden files and extensions are
visible to me..I just fail to pay attention sometimes.
