Thanks Stephen .... you know I've had that happen more than several times.

I feel better now :-)

I never mention it by name unless someone shows more interest in "3D
graphics" in general. It's like starting off the conversation by saying
you've got an Orange Five, 99% of people won't have a clue what you're
talking about so it's pointless to mention it before you've built up to it.

I often get asked what I use a computer for especially if I say I don't play
games or watch DVDs. Especially if I'm looking at high spec machines.
"Oh! You've not heard of it. Never mind it a geek thing."

Implying they aren't :P

High!

There must be millions of Afghans who not only never heard about
POV-Ray, but in fact not even have caught a glimpse of raytracing, never
touched a computer and know electricity only from hearsay! Sure, there
are about one million cell phone owners nowadays in Afghanistan, but I
fear raytracing is not much an issue there, I never heard of Afghan CG
artists up to now...

See you in Khyberspace!

Well, of course I know that there must be some persons, probably living in
very isolated habitats, who never heard about POV-Ray! ;-)

And people, don't take me too serious if I say those things...

Let see, in my area, that would amount to somewhat over 99% of peoples
who never heard of it...
And that's in a north-american city.
All in all, you can easily find over 90% of peoples in any area that
have never heard of ray tracing, or, if they have heard about, don't
have the faintest idea about what it is.

Heck, you can find 70% of the people in a North American city that never
heard of George Washington, let alone ray tracing.

I don't live in the states, and never lived there, and I have heard, and
read about him, many, many times.
