Post your water textures here; the more the better. Media is ok, photons are
ok, radiosity compatibility is great too.
I will figure out a way to handle all of the different possibilities later.
Just in the texture collection phase now.
A *possibility* exists of a texture browser utility. I do not know how the
pov team would feel about having that included with povray, and for the
moment it isn't an issue.

I'm wondering if a project like this would be better off on the POV-Wiki
rather than adding more includes to the distribution.
I think this is a worthy effort, so please don't take my comments as a
negative.

I think official include files will reach people a lot easier than
some online wiki.

Warps response summarizes some of the reasoning behind my call for an
include. ;-)
There is a pov wiki? Hmm..
Anyway, one might think povray would include normal things like a fog,
water, tree, snow, or mountian macro, as those are common features to
programs like world builder, bryce, vue and others.
Any argument against their inclusion could also be made against the stone,
metal, wood etc.. includes!
Why should povray contain any less, when it is so easy to just make an
include file for each?
The way I see it, those things would attract more users, who could then
learn from those include files and subsequently contribute more content to
the community.
There isn't any reason to make such things obscure to a new user, or to
exclude them from the distro.
Include files are tiny, and can be a very valuable resource for both new and
experienced users.
Many wonderful resources are lost to the internet via dead sites...why
should users who have been around since before "the button hole" be the only
ones with that knowledge?
So I'm going to go for it, and will leave the final call to the respected
pov team.
What could be lost from this effort? Denial by the pov team is the worst
outcome, in such case we can just post the results here. My goal will be
accomplished by either outcome.
And I didnt take your comment as a negative, I just wanted to post some of
the reasons I am doing this. :-)

ah yes .... it would appear that the wiki goes largely ignored. I guess I'm
a bit biased, the Wiki sure is a great resource that's not being used all
that much. Perhaps I was playing a bit of devils advocate in trying to drum
up some interest.

Don't forget that those files are very compressible, as just about any text
files. They are not large, and they take even less place in the package.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than
standing armies. Already they have raised up a monied aristocracy that has
set the government at defiance. The issuing power should be taken from the
banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs.
