My own, on going, ruins scene slowly progressing. Use of Bill Pragnell's
meshrelief macro of course apparent.

The floor is still way too regular. The sand looks quite good though.

If I'm remembering the previous incantation correctly .... the columns are
WAY better.

I get an odd sense from the form of the sand that's difficult to describe. It's
almost as if the sand were piled onto the face of the computer monitor instead
of drifting on the floor of the scene. It seems most pronounced in the
foreground.

I think that's probably due to insufficient level of anti-aliasing leaving too
much grain where you shouldn't really be able to see it. And, there's not
really much shading/shadowing on the side of mounds facing away from the light.

Probably, yes. I have not been concentrating much on the floor, although I
think it should remain rather smooth (abrasion, you know), but there should
be cracks and irregularities. The sand is not finished yet. It is slow work
because weeks if not months lay between spurts of activity.

Yes, that is probably the reason. Micro normals used here of course, asking
for a finner aa. Still, the sand willget eventually a major overhaul.

Huge improvement imo. It just cross a threshold from an awkward set of
experiments to an integrated, emotive picture.
Lots of potential here.

Thank you Jim. It is slow progress towards a goal I am still pondering. I
have mainly concentrated recently on the generation of the columnar space
with the idea in mind to turn it eventually into a universal macro. However,
the code is still very much focussed on my own column elements and so,
rather worthless in other situations.
I have a couple of ideas for this scene, one of them being an oriental
market. We shall see what comes of it.
