Seated Buddha, right of center.
Fertility goddess with an apron full of fruit, slightly above center.
17th century European queen, left of center.
Another European queen, at 10 o'clock.
European king showing off his dark cape, at 2 o'clock.
Bishop holding the communion wafer over his head, 3 o'clock.
African twin ladies, 5 'oclock.
Twin African princesses, 5:30.
Faces, stained glass windows, and bishops' miters everywhere!

That's why I named it "Kingdom." :) Could my choice for a name have
influenced what you saw?

I see so many things that I can't say.
It does remind me a little bit of this. I've been trying to find a
particular image in the fractal that I found a few years ago but it is
lost, as I got lost in the image:(
I'll run a series over night and see what I can see.

Stephen, that's a huge png file! So large, in fact, that Thunderbird
crashed trying to open it. My 24kpbs internet connection probably
doesn't help :( Can you post a jpeg file instead?

Sam

It is a compelling image in it's own right.

The idea of course has lots of pedigree
Leonardo, famously, but I expect you knew that:
http://www.mirabilissimeinvenzioni.com/ing_treatiseonpainting_ing.html

I am also reminded of, I think it was Darren New, posting once about
research into how music stimulates common brain regions in diverse human
groups.

I had a group of brain researchers in my taxi one night and I mentioned
that research/book to them. I mentioned to one how it called up the
question for me of how someone even recognizes that something is music.
Surely it was cultural and context-driven. His reponse was [to the best
I can recall] that certain research indicated that humans would reacted
to repeated fragments of sounds in the same way as to music. But I
didn't get much detail, the conversation took that turn just as he was
getting out of the car.

And, now that I am going, wasn't the virus in Snow Crash and visual pattern?

No, I did not know that! It pretty much strengthens my (not mine,
evidently) basic theory of utilizing the creative subconscious. Thanks
for that link!

This reminds me of the time I heard the Frog Chorus. Suddenly the random
croaking of frogs fit together into a coherent melody.

What's that? I didn't understand it... :/
