Sure, I happen to have a render farm sitting right here... It's called
IMP :)

That is an interesting notion, and certainly true. Never thought about it
that way.
Thanks Rune!

Just when you think you at least *know* about all the main
objects and concepts ... I completely overlooked light_groups.
Thanks for mentioning, they sound quite useful ;)

That's a nice idea. But either I got lost navigating the site,
or the only project completed since 2003 is a 15 second logo
for the site itself?

Thanks for all the comments. Its nice to be appreciated!

light_groups only work properly if you put the light_sources directly in the
light_group. They don't work properly if you put your lights inside a CSG
like a union as I usually do...

Taking an example scene with two union, one of which has some internal
lights...

union
{
    ...
    light_source{...}
    light_source{...}
}
union
{
    ...
}

In the following example this will work and render much faster...

light_group
{
    union
    {
        ...
    }
    light_source{...}
    light_source{...}
}
union
{
    ...
}

But in the following example this will work (i.e. the lights will only apply
to the first union) but render in the same time as the first example...

light_group
{
    union
    {
        ...
        light_source{...}
        light_source{...}
    }
}
union
{
    ...
}

    Nice tip Rune! Thanks! Will give it a try.

Ask and you shall receive... I have re-rendered it with a white background
and more lighting...

Nah, the Web site needs work.

Go to the IMP Farm Statistics, and you can see *some* of the past
completed jobs.

And the forums are still active - posting there would be very welcome.

Aah! The ship in all its glory!
That looks pretty well detailed to me. I like the hull texture in
particular.
Excellent work for an all CSG product!
