When are you starting to build your first Battlestar Galactica?

Your greebles are so perfect, meanwhile, that they can make out of simple
shapes complete full detailed and - most important - very impressive
battleships!

Zeger, I have started to develop space guns for battleships, please see the
images inside the thread "SF: Preview 11+: Imperial Carrier". If you like,
you could have your macro adding them on top of the low cylinders of your
greeble. Let me know.

Greetings,

Sven

oh, I'm having way too much fun creating the macros at the moment :)
Next stop: changing cylindrical greebles into conical greebles. After
that, it's time for spheres :)
oh, and I'll probably rewrite parts of the polygon-version, also using
triangles, so it'll render faster

:) thank you !

should be possible, but I think it would be better to have a seperate
(set of) macro(s) for doing things like that

well, I attached the source with the image, so you can try it out for
yourself :)
Actually, first I wanted to post a version without the texture, but
although it looked good (imho), it looks 10 times bigger with the
texture

Excellent work.

They could both pass as space ships already. The texture and lighting
really add to the feel of it.

How many different types of greeble are used?

Dave.

thank you :)

well, every "greeble-cell" has up to 5 cylindrical components
(superellipsoids), up to 5 box-like components (triangle mesh), up to 5
horizontal tubes (also a mesh) and up to 5 vertical tubes (cylinders and
spheres).

that makes 4 types of greeble :)

Really, really nice work. I hope you don't mind if the community steals--
er, learns from... your techniques!

In the contrary! that's why I also attached the source :)

Best space ship type greebls I've seen. Nice.

They both look awesome! What is the CPU speed and amount of RAM for those
times?
