Do you mean this one?

Actually, both inspired by M.C. Escher, the old dutch chestnut.

Close but no cigar :-)

bought the paperback in 1972 or 73. Funnily enough there was not a sheep on
the cover.

It was a bit like this but with only one head.

Okay, final attempt. Google found me this, which appears to be a Japanese
edition of Philip K Dick's "Lies, Inc". This might also explain why sheep
were not in evidence.

If that's not it, I'll throw the towel in. :)

Bill

PS I've seen c-beams glitter in the dark off the shoulder of Orion... etc,
etc.

Well done Bill (not that it was a trade test :-)
This is very similar to what I remember. The image made a lasting impression
on me. I can even remember where I was when I saw it, Lewis's on Argyle
Street in Glasgow.

P. P. S.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. The sea on fire under the
flare boom of the Piper Alpha. I watched Tom Melly smoke in the dark near
Putney bridge.

I can be completly mistaken here but IIRC distributing copies of Escher work
has some law restrictions. Perhaps to avoid putting responsibility on
news.povray.org owners it would be better to not leave any copy here.

Sorry for setting a bad example. I think that this part of the thread should

Maybe because Phillip K. Dick worked as a consultant, both on the screenplay
and through the making of the film. He was pleased with the result, both
artistically and financially.

I read "Androids" when I was a teenager back in the 70s. It made a very
strong impression...
