Hi to all out there,

as always it took longer as expected for a follow up, but instead
working with diffrent programs and scripts and converting mesh data
forth and back again, I took a break to visit the blender-python-api
docs and adapted my PERL script for placing things on a mesh as well as
wrote a simple povray-export script for direct export of meshes into
pov-code.
So basic modelling is still done in Wings3D, all the rest is done within
Blender. (Beside of this I had to recompile Blender from scratch as the
pre-compiled version refused to work with my version of python).

This is an intermediate version of a spider (species "araneus
diamentus"/"Gartenkreuzspinne").
Still a lot todo, as the maps are not convincing enough, the hairs seem
to be to small to be visible (actual there are thousands of them) and
the modell is still not poseable.

plans for further improvments:
   - replace hair with somthing more noteable/visible
   - continue texture works
   - make it poseable
   - and finaly join it to the public

Memory consumption was moderate (roughly 60M`s, ~2h@3GHzP4/1GB) for this
render as the hairs are included in the modell itself.

ehh, ..., by the way, ..., don't panic, it still can't move yet.

... dave

While the news server seemed to be down for a day or so I used the time
for a updated version.
Almost the same, but hairs are now more visible.
Started also rigging, but this may take a while due to the thousands of
hairs, which of cause should follow any motion.
