You might like my attempt at growing roots over a 
constraint surface, in this case a planetarium dome

High resolution animations (these really to "grow" from 
nothing) still to come.

Oh yeah, rendered using PovRay (of course).

I'm first to reply? Okay, so I'm going to say it-- Gnarly, man!

Animatable too? That should be interesting. All I'm imagining ATM is a
potted plant pulled from its pot but I'm sure there's other reasons to grow
roots on things.

Very, very nice. Is it possible to use it as decoration for my genealogy 
site? Representing the quest for my roots.

Sure, if one of the existing images is to your liking then 
feel free to use it as long as appropriate credits are given.

If you want the PovRay model in order to render it yourself
then I can arrange that also, perhaps better directly between
us rather than through the newsgroup.
