No, except for the bald head and blue eyes. :)

Actually, I did not use a mirror, nor any photo or pic as reference,
so it must be my unconscious idea of a head. In fact, I think he
resembles someone, but I can't say for sure.

   Thanks, I'm also surprised...

Hi,

Nice to see you've jumped on the Wings3D bandowagon. I'm there, too.

This head is scary... :-) I'm trying to model one, too. But it's going to
take some time until I'm satisfied. I found a great tutorial on
http://www.secondreality.ch/

Regards,
Hugo

me too! modelling plantlife as practice. i agree, the head is kind of
creepy. I think because it looks alive and alert, but is sitting on a table
stop. nice modelling, Jaime.

I think this is going to be a "revolution" for my scenes. I plan to
use it for all these objects that I usually discard due to the work they
would involve with CSG or isosurfaces.

Well, I think Ross has it right: it's the combination of the forced
expresion (casual) and the fact that he is looking at the camera (intended).

I just discoverd the tutorial at secondreality, and it's very
diferent to my aproach, more complex. I will try it for the next head...

I was just watching "the Maltese Falcon", and if you give him some hair he'd
look a lot like Peter Lorre.

Looks great!

Really! Now I am wondering which tut you did use. The Wiro tut was the
one I depended on; I virtually memorized the thing. It was behind all
the African Masks, and early textured busts. Though the earliest try,
the portrait of Carson McCuller came before all that. I actually based
that one on a rather dense sphere. Very bad idea.

Hmmm... none! I just had a look at some of them without carefully
reading the step-by-step instructions... then I started from a smoothed
cube, using different techniques by trial & error. I do almost all the
work on that first step, getting a low-poly head with very exaggerated
characteristics. Then I smooth it and retouch some details here and
there, smoothing again for the final exported mesh.

I started at first from a sphere too, but soon I noticed it was not
working. This is when I looked at some tutorials to see what shape I
should start with.
