Sweet. The black is a bit distracting -- what if it reflected something
instead?

Photons just didn't go that deep.

Ah. Didn't seem like a max_trace_level issue. From what you're saying,
it still isn't, right? Photons are still a mystery to me.

a photon is cast from a light source, then
travels intro the scene. The scene can focus
photons on a spot or disperse them, creating
dark areas. Here, the dominos are superellipsoids
with a wrinkles normal.

The max_trace_level is 5, both for photons
and for normal light, which is ok for most
scenes.

I may render with a deeper level, and more
photons, but I can't increase the photon
density a lot more: it already takes 700 M
of memory, and I only have 1G of physical
memory on by linux box (the render-slave.)

Best,

    S.

   That's a fantastic glass material, but I think that max_trace_level 5
is not enough for the number of objetcs you put on a pile. All the rest
seems quite perfect... congrats!

Stunning. Apart from the black area thing that you already know about, what
about enlarging the picture a bit more so that there is more spacing between
the glass and the picture boundaries?

I'm leaving on travel next week, so I won't be using
my computer, I may try it with a trace level of 10
