Actually there are at least half a dozen others on these groups that are
either in the city or within reasonable commuting distance. Whether they
want to come is a different story ;)

Regardless of where you choose, it will be a hike for someone. So choose
an interesting spot. If not NYC, how about the Wright Space restaurant at
the Air & Space Museum in Washington D.C. ;)

IMHO the best times to visit NYC are in Mid October when the leaves are
changing, Mid December when the holiday season is in full swing, or the
late spring(May) before it gets too sticky.

Yeah, the art scene comes alive too, and people *dress*. Still, I like
those steamy summer nights when everyone hits the street, 90 degrees
pavement, with the women in tank tops and high boots.

NY would be a good choice... has my vote anyway. I do the drive to Niagara
Falls once or twice a year with no problem, and NY isn't too much further
really.

Shall we set a date in the spring? ;) Is Saturday preferable?

A Saturday in the spring stands as good a chance as any since I really
don't know what I will be doing by then. If I am able to get a cab
driving job it may mean weekends are not free but I have no way of
predicting it at this point. :/
